Patrizia Marti



Assistant Professor and senior researcher at the University of Siena, Communication Science Department. From November 2009 to April 2010, she spent her sabbatical at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, Department of Industrial Design, Designing Quality in Interaction group. She has a longstanding track record of research in interaction design. She has been a principal researcher on a number of European and nationally funded projects in the areas of ubiquitous computing, educational technologies, human-robot interaction, and health care. Her current research interests include aesthetics of interaction, intentional and expressive interaction, and the exploration of smart materials. She acted as reviewer in the EU Future and Emergent Technology programmes for the projects Intelligent Information Interfaces (I3) (FPV) and Disappearing Computing and FET Open Scheme (FPVI). She was the keynote speaker and a member of the scientific committee for several international conferences. She has been also the editor for special issues of international journals.
