Leena Ventä-Olkkonen


is a doctoral candidate in INTERACT research unit in the faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) at the University of Oulu. She received her master’s degree on humanities at University of Oulu in 2008. Her background is in linguistics, human Computer Interaction and information systems. Her current research interests’ concentrates on appropriation and practices related to urban computing technologies and stakeholder impacts on urban research projects. Her earlier research has focused on user centric design of virtual reality applications. She has worked in several HCI related research teams in Nokia Research center and at university of Oulu.
