Nikos Manouselis

 

has a diploma in Electronics & Computer Engineering, a M.Sc. in Operational Research, and a M.Sc. in Electronics & Computer Engineering, all from the Technical University of Crete, Greece. He also holds a PhD on the application of metadata technologies to support social information retrieval in the domain of agriculture, from the Informatics Laboratory (Infolab) of the Agricultural University of Athens(AUA), Greece. He is serving as a consultant for organizations such as the Greek Research & Technology Network and the University of Alcala, Spain. He is also giving lectures on topics related to Web Science and Web Technology at the University of Alcala. He has extensive experience in the implementation of large scale initiatives and project coordination in the context of EU Programmes. Recently, he has coordinated the eContentplus initiative Organic.Edunet. Currently, he is serving as a member of the expert teams consulting the coordination of the CIP PSP Natural Europe and the CIP PSP VOA3R initiatives. He is involved in several editorial activities, as well as relevant scientific events. He has also given a number of invited talks.  He has over 100 publications in scientific journals, book volumes, and conference proceedings. With the facilitation of the Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Nikos has set up a Learning Repositories Task Force (AgLR-TF). He is also currently serving as the President of the ARIADNE Foundation.
