Nicole Novielli



is a PhD student in Computer Science in the Department of Informatics, University of Bari.
She got her Master Degree in 'Software and Knowledge Engeneering' at the Department of Computer Science, University of Bari, with a dissertation on 'Automatic Recognition of Affective States in Natural Language Dialogues' (Advisor Prof. Fiorella de Rosis) in 2006. She started her cooperation with the Intelligent Interfaces research group in 2004, in the scope of the HUMAINE project (European Network of Excellence on Emotions).
Her research interests are in the area of Human-Computer Interaction with particular focus on recognition of affective and cognitive states from language.
At present, she works on the application of Markovian models to dialog pattern description.
