received her Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Irvine and is a Design Researcher at the MIND Research Institute. Her research applies theories from motivation and cognition to the design of learning environments for science and math. She is particularly interested in the mechanisms of how motivation affects cognitive processes, especially in game-based contexts. From a design perspective, she looks at the unique affordances that technology provides in assessment and regulation of learning.
